Effects of corticosterone injections in mid-to-late mouse postnatal development on adult motor activity and coordination

چکیده
• Adult mouse displayed increased motor activity after postnatal corticosterone injections. A better rotorod acquisition was obtained in adult Postnatal injections facilitated visomotor control mouse. altered cerebellar morphology Glucocorticoids are involved the developing brain but, excessive amounts, may depress its growth and cause psychomotor development disorders. To test long-term vulnerability of structures such as cerebellum to supraphysiological (CORT), hormone subcutaneously delivered at a dose 20 mg/kg from day (P) 8 P29 C57BL/6 male mice evaluated for sensorimotor functions P15, P22, P29, 3 months. Relative placebo, CORT open-field months well facilitating visuomotor necessary swimming towards visible goal without affecting spatial learning Morris water maze. caused lobule-specific effects on by decreasing granule cell layer thickness simplex lobule but increasing molecular crus 2. The functional impact these changes is indicated significant correlations found between size levels or proficiency coordination.

Effect of Seizure During Pregnancy on Cognitive and Motor Coordination Performances in Adult Male Offspring of Female Mice: The Role of Serum Corticosterone Level
Introduction: Human and animal models have demonstrated that seizure during pregnancy can cause cognitive and motor impairments in the offspring. However, the mechanisms of this effect need to be elucidated. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of seizure during pregnancy on cognitive and motor performances of the adult male offspring with an emphasis on the hypothalamic–pitu...
متن کاملP-251: Effects of Indomethacin on Postnatal Development of Mouse Testes
Objective: Indomethacin is a non-selective cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitor that is commonly administered to extremely low gestational age neonates for symptomatic patent ductus arteriosus. It suppresses prostaglandins which modulate growth and secretion of various hormones. We examined the hypothesis that early postnatal administration of Indomethacin may influence growth and development of test...

متن کاملDifferential effects of repeated immobilization stress in early vs. late postnatal period on stress-induced corticosterone response in adult rats.
This study was performed in order to determine how immobilization stress in the early postnatal period or in the late postnatal period affects growth in the developing rat, and the response of the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenocortical (HPA) axis in adult rats subjected to subsequent novel stresses. In addition, the effects of maternal deprivation (MD) within the same period of exposure to immob...
